Jharkhand – An eastern state also known as the “land of the forest” is a most attractive tourist destination for environmentalists, wildlife enthusiasts, and tree huggers as the state are enthroned with rivers, waterfalls, lush green forests, and wide of flora and fauna.

Besides, being a hometown for age-old tribes and a state loaded with tremendous biodiversity, traditional & historical heritage and holy spots of worship, this beautiful place is also a nerve center of education, economics, and industries. 

 

History

 

Jharkhand’s history is closely related to the 6th and 7th centuries BC during the Mahabharata. The “Kikat”  Pradesh in Rig Veda was located in Jharkhand Giridihi Parasnath.

 

Some historians claim that even before the Magadha period there was a clear geopolitical cultural entity called Jharkhand. Many scholars now believe that the language used by the tribes of the Jharkhand state is identical to that used by the Harappan people.

 

Places to visit

Ranchi

Rachi is the capital of Jharkhand and an enticing place for those who love to explore the beauty which is undefined till time. Blessed with abundant waterfalls, beautiful scenes, and temples, the land has many surprises and sightseeings for travelers. Nature & parks like Rock Garden, Tagore Hills, Hundru Falls, etc, and Religious sites & landmarks like Jagannath Temple, Pahari Mandir, Deori Mandir, etc. sum up the city’s mesmerism.

Deoghar

Deoghar is a sacred city situated beside the Mayurakshi River and enriched with natural beauty and cultural heritage. Katasar Ghat, Gohira Dam, Olat Bata, Kailas Palace are famous tourist attractions of the place. It is also the place of an archaic Baba Baidyanath Temple which is a famous Hindu pilgrimage site with 12 jyotirlingas. In the Shravan month, the place entices many spiritual followers to perform rituals like Rudrabhishek that pleases Lord Shiva.

Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur is the first planned industrial city of India and also known as “Steel City” and “TATA Nagar. The city is famous for its high-class infrastructure, captivating architecture, soothing ambiance and attractions like tree-lined Jubilee Park, Tata Steel Zoological Park, Dimna Lake, Bhuvaneshwari Temple, etc.

Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh is a gorgeous green place with heavy forests, lakes, parks and natural formations including muds, rocks, and mountains. The market of the city exhibits the traditional & exquisite artifacts of people living in Jharkhand, the lakes like Hazaribagh lake beautifies the sunrise & sunset views where the chirping sounds of birds greet you and hills take you to the scenic beauty.

Bokaro steel city

Bokaro is also one of the planned cities of India and is endowed with abundant greenery, beautiful parks, and instinctive lakes. This city is located in the easternmost part of Jharkhand and near to West Bengal which infuses the Bengali tradition in Jharkhand’s culture.

Netarhat

Queen of Chotanagpur, Netarhat is situated in the Latehar district of Jharkhand. Famous for capturing the beautiful sunset & sunrise views, the city welcomes you through the seven hills when coming from Ranchi. The city is loaded with heavy and lucky greenery and offers a soothing sense to travelers.

Dhanbad

 Dhanbad is known as India’s Coal Capital as it has attained tremendous fame in Coal Industries. Dhanbad has picturesque & attractive Bhatinda Falls, artificial Topchanchi Lake amid the grassy hills, must-visit Birsa Munda Park, the famous Shakti Mandir with an eternal flame, and much more. The tourist attractions in Dhanbad include Panchet Dam and Maithon Dam which are enclosed by hills, dense forests, and lakes.
